Salman Mobile Shop

At Salman Mobile Shop in Surat 3, things are pretty straightforward for us. We open up the shutters every morning and start checking the stock to see what we need. The shop is small, so we have to be clever about where we put everything so we don't trip. We have a lot of different mobile phones, mostly the ones that people around here use for their daily work and staying in touch with family. Our main thing is making sure people can use their phones without any trouble. That means fixing cracked screens, replacing old batteries, or helping someone figure out their phone settings. We have a small stool for customers to sit on while they wait for us to finish. The street outside can get quite dusty, so we’re always wiping down the glass counters to keep them clean. We sell a lot of chargers and cables because those seem to break the most for people. It’s a lot of manual work, sitting with a magnifying glass and a soldering iron. We don't have a big team, it's just a couple of us handling everything from sales to the repairs. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for specific parts to arrive from the main market. We tell people honestly how long it will take so they aren't waiting. It’s a regular shop for regular people in the city. We just keep working away here in Surat 3.
