Our office is down in the basement of the Krishna Textile Market, which is right near the J. J. A/c Market on the busy Ring Road. It’s a very central spot for anyone involved in the fabric trade, even if the basement itself feels a bit hidden away from the main street. We have a lot of shelves filled with different types of cloth, and the air always has that specific smell of new textiles. The floor is concrete and we have some old metal desks where we do our daily accounting and order management. It gets very loud in the market during the peak hours, with people shouting and carts rattling across the floors, but we’ve learned to tune it out over the years. We don't have any fancy posters or corporate slogans on our walls. Instead, we have calendars and notes pinned up everywhere to remind us of delivery dates. Our work is pretty straightforward. We receive the goods, check them over, and make sure they get to where they are supposed to go. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the Ring Road traffic, which throws our whole schedule off, but that’s just how things work in this part of town. We are just a group of people who know the textile business and work hard to keep our small corner of the market running without too many hiccups. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of environment down here.
