Venus Garments

Down here at Surat Apparel Park, specifically at Plot 28 on the Sachin-Palsana Road, is where we do all our sewing and packing. This area is always busy with trucks and people moving fabric around, and we are right in the middle of it. We have got rows of machines and a lot of fabric rolls everywhere. It is a loud place when everything is running, with the hum of the needles and the sound of people talking over the noise. We make different kinds of clothes, and it is a lot of repetitive work, but we try to keep it organized. The light in the workshop is bright so we can see what we are doing. We are not some high-end fashion house with a runway. We are just a garment factory in Sachin where folks come to work every day. Sometimes the heat in Surat gets to be a bit much, especially in a room full of machinery, but we have some fans going. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know each other’s families and what is going on in the neighborhood. We do not have any big speeches about our values or anything like that. We just make sure the seams are straight and the boxes are taped up for shipping. It is just honest work, day in and day out, making sure we get the garments finished on time for everyone.
