Our place, Condor Footwear, is located deep inside the Sachin G.I.D.C. area. The exact address is A-1 3503-4, right on Main Road-3, and then you take Sub Road-35. We are right behind the Dev Rekha building. It is a big industrial zone, so there are trucks moving in and out all day long. We make shoes and sandals here. It is a factory setting, so it is noisy and there is always the smell of rubber and glue in the air. We have been operating here for years. The floors are concrete and there are machines running almost all the time. We have quite a few workers who come in shifts. It is not a retail shop where you can just walk in and browse quietly. It is a production house. We spend our time managing the assembly lines and making sure the quality is okay before the boxes get loaded onto the trucks. The weather in Sachin can get very dusty, especially with all the construction and industrial activity around. We keep the office part separate from the main floor so we can handle the paperwork in peace. It is a lot of work to keep a footwear business running in such a competitive area. We focus on getting the orders out on time. There is no fancy decor here, just benches, machines, and stacks of shoe boxes waiting to go. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day.
