S Kumar Painter

S Kumar Painter is located right here on Dindoli 1St Cross in Golar Lane. I’ve been working out of this small space for a long time now. The lane is narrow, so parking the rickshaw with all the ladders is always a bit of a squeeze. I started out on my own just doing small patches and fixing up old rooms that had water stains. Now I have a couple of guys who help me out when the jobs are bigger. We mostly walk around the Dindoli area because everyone knows us here. My hands are usually covered in some kind of primer or thinners, and my clothes have spots of every color you can imagine. We don’t have a big office with chairs for people to sit. It’s mostly just a place to keep the rollers, the brushes, and the tins of oil paint. When we get a call, we head out to see the walls first. Sometimes the plaster is falling off and we have to fix that before any color goes on. It takes a lot of patience to get the edges straight near the ceiling. We use a lot of plastic sheets to make sure the floor stays clean, but sometimes a drop still finds its way through. We just work until the light fades and then pack it all up for the next day. It is honest work and it keeps us busy through the seasons. I don't think I'd do anything else now.
