S. B. Garment

If you go to Shaktivijay Society on L. H. Road, we are at number 189. We’re up on the third floor. It’s a bit of a climb if the elevator is acting up, which happens more often than I’d like. But once you get up here, it’s actually quite nice and airy. S. B. Garment is where we do all our sewing and packing. There are sewing machines going for most of the day, so it’s never really quiet. We make different kinds of garments, mostly for local shops around the area. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My uncle started it, and now we all help out. The third floor gives us a decent view of the street, though we’re usually too busy to look out the window. We have piles of thread and scrap fabric everywhere. It’s a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. We don't really have a front desk or anything. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us working at the machines. It’s honest work and it keeps us out of trouble. L. H. Road is always crowded, so getting supplies delivered can be a headache, but we manage. We just keep the needles moving and try to stay on schedule. It’s not fancy, but it is our work and we take it as it comes.
