Royal Fashions

For Royal Fashions, we are located up on the twelfth floor of Surya Prakash Residency in Althan. It’s a residential area, so our unit at A/1201 is much quieter than a typical market shop. The view from this high up is actually quite nice, especially looking out towards City Light in the early mornings. We have turned the rooms into a workspace for our fashion projects. Sewing machines and cutting tables are everywhere. The light is perfect for seeing the details of the stitching. A small team of us works here. We usually have a pot of tea going in the corner. Sometimes we get distracted by the construction noise in Althan, but mostly we just focus on the needles and threads. There are loose threads all over the carpet. I once spilled some tea near the desk that left a permanent mark. We have a large wooden cupboard where we keep all the finished items away from the dust. It’s not a place where people just walk in off the street, so it’s a bit more relaxed. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sketching out new ideas on scrap paper. It’s a lot of work to bring materials up and down the elevator, but we like the peace we get up here. We just keep our heads down and finish the work. Every day is a little different, but we stay busy with the stitching and the fabric.
