Our place is at 88-89 in the Ambica Industrial Area, right on Udhnu Magdulla Road. It’s a large industrial zone where everyone is making something or other. We have two units side by side, which gives us enough room to do our work without tripping over each other. The road outside is always busy with heavy trucks carrying materials. Inside, we have our workstations set up with different tools and fabrics spread out. It’s more of a workshop than a store. We spend our days coming up with different designs and then seeing how they look once they’re actually made. Sometimes things don’t turn out how we expected, so we have to start over or change the plan. That’s just part of the process. The fans on the ceiling are always spinning, trying to move the warm air around during the summer. We have a small area where we keep the finished pieces before they get packed away. It’s not a glamorous job, and we usually end the day with thread stuck to our shirts and ink on our hands. We know the other business owners in the Ambica area, and we often share a cup of tea in the afternoons when things slow down a bit. It’s a good community of makers, and we’re just glad to be a part of it.
