Rohit Painter

I am Rohit and I work as a painter in the GIDC Estate over at Nawabwadi Phase Iv. Being in an industrial area means I do a lot of work for factories and warehouses. It is a very different environment than painting someone's living room. There is always the sound of machinery and trucks idling nearby. My clothes are almost always covered in industrial-grade primer or some heavy-duty paint. I have been based in Phase Iv for quite a while now and I know the layout of this estate like the back of my hand. It is a dusty place and you have to wear a mask most of the time because of the fumes and the grime. I don't have a polished office with a desk. Usually, I am just sitting on a crate while I wait for a coat of paint to dry. My tools are all heavy and built to last. I work with a small team of guys who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We usually eat our lunch together in the shade of one of the big sheds. Nawabwadi is a tough area but there is plenty of work if you are willing to put in the hours. I don't use any fancy marketing. The factory owners just call me when their walls start looking peeling or rusty. It is a straightforward way to earn a living and I like the people around here.
