We are located up on the 4th floor of Kohinoor Textile Houses. The shop number is 419. It is right near the main Kohinoor market area on Ring Road. Being on the fourth floor means it is a little bit quieter than the ground level, but the stairs are definitely a pain when the power goes out and the lift stops. We have been working here for a while. It is just a standard office and a small stock room setup. We do not have any big slogans or catchy phrases on the walls. We just sell clothes to people who need them. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking about the news, and other days we can’t even find a minute to eat our lunch because there are so many orders to sort. My cousin helps me out with the accounts, even though he is not always the best at keeping things tidy. We try to stay organized but with so much fabric coming in every week, things get messy pretty fast. Surat is the hub for this kind of work, so there is always competition around every corner. We don’t worry about that too much. We just do our own thing and hope for the best. People come by to see the latest designs we have brought in. Sometimes they like them, and sometimes they don’t like them at all. That is just how the clothing business goes. We don’t use fancy words to describe what we do.
