Rhythm Holidays

Rhythm Holidays is basically a small office we set up in Mahadevnagar Society, which is over in the Sagrampura area near Ring Road. It’s a busy part of Surat, so there is always a lot of traffic noise and people shouting outside our window. We started this because we liked talking about different places to visit and help people get away for a bit. Mostly, we sit here at our desks with a couple of computers and a bunch of printed papers and brochures scattered around. People from the neighborhood usually just walk in when they are thinking about taking a trip somewhere during the school holidays or for a family wedding. We spend a lot of time on the phone calling hotels or checking bus schedules to see what is available. It is not a big corporate setup at all. It is just a few of us trying to figure out the best routes for people so they don't get stuck. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we have to wait a while to finish a booking, which is annoying, but we manage. We have some maps pinned to the wall and some old photos of places we've been. We don't have a fancy waiting room, just a few plastic chairs for when people come to pick up their tickets. It gets a bit cramped when more than three people show up at once. We try to keep things organized but it is hard.
