Ravi Art Knitters

Ravi Art Knitters is found at LG 119 in Surat Pant Nagar. Being on the lower ground floor means it stays a bit cooler than the street level, which is good because the knitting machines generate quite a bit of heat when they are running all day. The sound of the machines is very rhythmic and loud, so you often have to raise your voice to be heard inside. We have big cones of yarn stacked up against the walls in all different colors. Most of our work involves taking orders for specific knit patterns and making sure the machines are set up right for the job. There is always a bit of lint and fluff in the air, so we have to clean the equipment every evening before we leave. It is a hardworking environment where we focus on getting the fabric right. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. It is mostly just the workshop space with a small table for doing the paperwork and checking the finished pieces for any loose threads. We have been in Surat for a long time, and this spot in Pant Nagar is where we do all the actual knitting. People come down the stairs to discuss their orders or pick up a batch of finished goods. It is a bit cramped with all the boxes of finished items waiting to be sent out, but we manage just fine.
