Setting up Raj Gift Articles & Mobile Shop on the Amroli SG Highway was quite a task. It is a fast road and people are always in a hurry to get somewhere else. We have a mix of things here, like toys and small gifts on one side and then all the mobile phone accessories on the other. It might seem like a strange mix to some but it works for the people who live nearby. Sometimes a father comes in to get a phone charger and leaves with a doll for his daughter. That happens quite a bit actually. The dust from the highway is something we have to fight every single day. I spend a lot of time with a duster in my hand. It is just me and one other guy working here most shifts. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. We just have our small counter and the stock rooms in the back. The SG Highway is loud and you can hear the trucks rumbling past all day long. It becomes like background noise after a while and you don't even notice it. We stay open late because that is when most people are heading home and want to stop for a quick errand. It's a living and we enjoy meeting the different characters who stop by.
