We have been based at the Annapurna Textile Market on Ring Road for a good while now. Our place is unit 3001, way up in the building. It is a busy spot, and the traffic around the market is usually a complete mess in the mornings, so we try to get in early to avoid the worst of it. My brother and I started this business because we already knew the textile trade pretty well. It is not a fancy setup here at all. We mostly have piles of fabric rolls and different samples taking up all the floor space. Sometimes the elevators in the market stop working, which means we have to carry everything up the stairs. It is tiring but you get used to it after a few years. We handle the fashion side of things, but really it is just a lot of hard work and keeping the inventory straight. We don't spend money on big ads or marketing stuff. Most of our customers find us because they are already walking through the market looking for something specific. It gets very hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer. We just keep the ceiling fans going and try to stay on top of all the paperwork on our desks. It is a steady rhythm. Some days are faster than others depending on the season. We just show up, do what needs doing, and head home when the market closes.
