Priti Fashion is located at 1240 in the New Textile Market. If you know Ring Road, you know how it is. Traffic is always backed up and the noise never really stops. We are right in the middle of all that chaos. The shop is small, so we have to use every inch of the walls for storage. Boxes are stacked all the way to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We spend the morning unpacking and then the afternoon trying to find where we put things. It’s just a regular shop. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. People come in, they look at the stuff, and we talk for a bit. My hands are usually dusty from the fabric. That’s just part of the day. The afternoon sun hits the front of the market pretty hard. We have a small stool near the door where we sit when it’s quiet. Not that it’s quiet often on Ring Road. You get the smell of diesel and tea all day long. We’ve seen a lot of neighbors come and go over the years. We just keep doing our thing here at number 1240. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding. By the end of the day, your back feels it. But then you close up and go home and do it again tomorrow. It’s just life in the market and we are used to the rhythm of it.
