We are tucked away in Shop No. 135 in the basement of Abhishek Market. Being on the Ring Road means it is always noisy upstairs, but down here in the basement, it is a little bit quieter, though it can get stuffy. We have been working out of this spot for a while. It’s not a huge place, just a simple shop where we keep our stock and wait for people to come down. Most days involve a lot of organizing. You wouldn't believe how much stuff we can fit into a basement shop when we really try. We spend a lot of time checking the tags and making sure things aren't getting dusty. My cousin helps out some days when it gets busy. We don't really have a big fancy storefront with neon lights. It’s just a door and some racks of clothes. People usually find us by word of mouth or if they happen to be wandering through the basement looking for something specific. It is honest work. We don't try to be something we aren't. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit in the dark for a bit, but that is just part of being in this building. We know the other shop owners nearby and we usually share snacks in the afternoon. It’s a small community down here beneath the road. We just keep moving.
