Pioneer Collections

Pioneer Collections is over in the Antop Hill area of Surat. We deal in clothes, mostly stuff for everyday wear. The shop is tucked away, so you have to look for it a bit. We get a lot of boxes delivered every Tuesday, so the floor is usually a mess for a few hours while we unpack everything. It’s just the way it is here. My sister helps with the displays, though we aren't very good at making them look like the big malls. We just hang things up where there is space. The street outside can get quite muddy when it rains, and we spend a lot of time mopping the entrance. Most of our customers are locals who want something decent to wear for work or a small family gathering. We don't have those fancy dressing rooms, just a small corner with a curtain. It's a bit cramped when we have more than three people inside. We’ve been in Surat for a while now, and we’ve seen shops come and go. We just stay quiet and do our work. Sometimes we have a sale when we have too much old stock taking up room. We don't advertise it much, just put a sign out front. It’s a modest business. We like the neighborhood, even if it’s a bit loud. We just hope people find something they like when they walk in.
