Om Sai Trading

Om Sai Trading is tucked away in Mani Apartment, which is close to the Vishwakarma Temple near Majura Gate. Operating out of an apartment building makes it feel a bit more personal, like a home office, but it’s strictly for our trading business. We often have boxes stacked in the entryway when a new shipment comes in. Majura Gate is one of those busy intersections where the horns never seem to stop. The temple is close enough that we can hear the bells during the day, which is actually quite nice. Most of our time is spent on the phone or the computer, keeping track of orders and talking to people we buy from. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure everything is where it should be. The office is a bit crowded because we always have more inventory than we have room for. We have a little stove for making tea and there’s usually a bag of snacks open on the table. It’s a simple setup run by a small group of us who have worked together for a long time. We don’t have a big sign out front or anything fancy. People mostly find us through word of mouth or by looking for the apartment name. It’s a busy and sometimes disorganized way to spend the day, but it’s an honest living. We just keep things moving and try to stay on top of the orders as they come in.
