You can find Shree Ambika Creation over at the New Pashupati Market on Ring Road. We are in the Mati Begam Wadi area. This part of the city is famous for textiles, so it is incredibly crowded every single day. There are trucks constantly loading and unloading fabric right outside our door. Inside the shop, we have rolls of cloth stacked up to the ceiling. It can be quite overwhelming if you aren't used to it. We spend most of our time measuring fabric and cutting it for orders. There is always lint and thread on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. The noise from the Ring Road traffic is constant, but we’ve learned to talk over it. We don't have any fancy decorations; the fabric itself is the main thing you see. We open early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. Most of the people we deal with are other traders or people from the garment industry. It’s a fast-paced environment and you have to be quick. Sometimes we have to move dozens of heavy rolls just to find one specific pattern at the bottom of the stack. We drink tea from the local stall several times a day to keep going. It’s a very traditional way of doing business here in the market. We just show up, do the work, and hope the traffic isn't too bad when we head home.
