Monginis The Cake Shop

Monginis The Cake Shop is our little spot in Mahidharpura, over in Khodiyar Nagar at 6/1788. It’s a place that smells like baking and sugar almost every hour of the day. We spend a lot of time behind the glass counters, keeping everything straight and making sure the displays look okay. It isn't a massive store, but we make the most of the space we have. During the festive seasons, it gets really crowded in here and we have to move fast. Otherwise, it’s a bit more relaxed. We see a lot of parents coming in with their kids after school. Watching the kids pick out a treat is probably the best part of being here. We keep the floors swept and the fridge running cold for the cream cakes. The lighting inside is bright because we want people to see what they're getting. We aren't part of some big corporate office; we're just the people who run this specific shop on this specific street. Sometimes we run out of certain items early in the day, and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It’s just how it goes sometimes. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just show up, put on our aprons, and start the day. It’s a nice way to be part of the Mahidharpura community and we enjoy seeing the familiar faces of our regular customers.
