Vanya Designer is located on the P 2823 Upper Ground Floor of the Millennium Textile Market on Ring Road. Being in the Millennium market means it is always loud and crowded with people looking for fabrics. We chose the upper ground floor because it’s a bit easier to get to than the higher levels, but it still feels like a maze sometimes. Our shop is packed with rolls of cloth and different designs we’ve been working on. There isn’t much room to walk around once we get a big delivery in. Most days, we are just comparing colors under the tube lights and trying to make sure the patterns look right. The Ring Road traffic is something you just have to live with if you work here. We usually eat our lunch while leaning against the counter because there isn’t enough space for a proper table. People come from all over to source stuff from this market, so we meet all kinds. Sometimes the air in the market feels a bit heavy with all the lint and dust from the textiles, but we don’t mind it much anymore. It’s just the way things are in the heart of the trade. We keep a ledger by the door to track everything, and it’s usually half-covered in tea stains from the morning break. We've been here long enough to know most of the loaders by name and wave to them.
