Even though the name says Mayur Travels Surat, we are actually operating out of Village Madhopur in the Jaunpur district. It’s near Machhli Sahar, and the post office is Barawan. We’ve been around since the first of January back in 1978. That is a long time for a small travel business to be running in a village. We started with just one vehicle and now we handle all sorts of travel needs for the local community. It’s not like those big agencies in the city with websites and apps. People usually just come to the house or find us by word of mouth in the village. We know all the roads around here and the best ways to get to the main stations. My family has been doing this for decades. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just sit under the porch and talk to folks about where they need to go. Sometimes we help with train tickets or booking a car for a wedding. It is a quiet life in Jaunpur, but there is always someone needing a ride somewhere.
