Madhav Ice Cream

Out on Varacha Road, you’ll find us at Maharashtra Society, units 125 and 126. This is where Madhav Ice Cream operates. It’s a loud place sometimes because the refrigeration units never really stop humming. We have to keep everything at the right temperature or we’re in big trouble. During the summer, it’s absolutely non-stop here. We’re constantly moving boxes and checking the inventory. The floor is usually a bit cold, and we all wear heavy sweaters even when it’s boiling outside. It’s a funny way to work, honestly. We’ve been in Maharashtra Society for a long time now, and we know most of the people who live in the surrounding buildings. Sometimes kids come by hoping for a sample, and we help them out if we can. The trucks come and go all day, which makes the neighbors a bit annoyed about the noise sometimes, but we try to be quick with the loading. We don't have any flashy signs or big advertisements. Most people just know we’re here by word of mouth. It’s a messy business sometimes, with spills and sticky floors, but we keep it clean as we can. We’re just a local group of folks making sure there’s enough ice cream to go around when the weather gets hot. It's steady work and we like being part of Varacha Road. It is just a normal life for us among the freezers and the cold air.
