Lily Fashion Surat is situated in the basement of the Nanavati Shopping Centre at Shop No. 1. We are right near Shri Janta Ice Cream and opposite Sonica on Balaji Road. This is in the heart of Chauta Bazar, so it is always very lively. Being in the basement means we are a little away from the direct sun, which helps in the summer. We sell all kinds of traditional clothes and fabrics. The shop is often filled with rolls of cloth and half-finished orders. It is a very busy environment, especially during wedding seasons. I have a few local boys who help me with the daily chores and moving stock. We aren't a corporate franchise. It is just our own local shop that we have run for years. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations. The walls are mostly covered with fabric samples and price lists. Chauta Bazar is a place where everyone knows everyone else. We rely on the people walking by and the regulars who have been coming to us for a long time. It is a lot of hard work and long hours, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on getting the fabrics right and keeping our customers happy in our own way. It is just a simple life in the bazaar, surrounded by the smell of textiles and the sounds of the street.
