We are based at No. 509/10 on the upper ground floor of the Kohinoor Textile Market in Surat. It is a pretty crowded place most days, especially when the new stock comes in and everyone is trying to move their stuff through the hallways. Our office isn't very big but we have enough space for the desks and all the samples we keep on the shelves. You can hear the noise from the street and other shops all day long, which is just how it is in this part of Surat. We spend most of our time answering the phone or checking through the lists of items we need to send out. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power is acting up, so we just wait a bit or use our torches. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything in the market. We have been here for a while now and know the tea seller downstairs quite well. He brings us cutting chai every afternoon around four. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are too busy to worry about that right now. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure the labels are stuck on properly. It's nothing fancy, just a regular day-to-day business where we try to stay organized. Most of our neighbors are also in textiles so we all kind of know each other's routines by now. Most people find us easily because we’re right there in the main building.
