Kruti Stationery & Novelty

Our little shop is at 29/1 Geet Govind Society, right along Sitala Devi Road. If you know the Varachha Road area, you know it gets pretty packed with traffic and people moving about. We’ve been here for a good bit of time now, mostly dealing in stationery and the usual novelty items you’d expect. Most mornings, the first thing to do is wipe down the notebooks and the pen stands because the road outside kicks up a lot of dirt. We carry the basic stuff that the local students need, like those thick registers and different colored pens. Then there are the gift items, mostly plastic things or small decorations that people like for their homes. The shop isn't very wide, so we have to stack things pretty high up on the walls. I usually use a small stool to reach the stuff on the top shelves. It’s just a normal neighborhood store, really. We see a lot of the same faces every week, mostly parents stopping by after work or kids looking for a new eraser. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit by the door where there is a bit of a breeze. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights, just the name above the door and the goods laid out so people can see them. It's a steady way to spend the day, watching the world go by on Sitala Devi Road while we help people with their school supplies.
