Kids Choice

Our shop is at 21 Akurdi Main Road in Surat. If you know the area, you know how hectic the traffic can get around here, especially in the evenings. We chose this spot because it is right in the middle of everything. We sell things for kids, mostly clothes and some small bits and pieces they might like. It is not a huge store, but we try to keep enough stock so people have a few options to look at. The hangers are always a bit tangled and the shelves sometimes get messy when it's busy, but that's just part of it. We don't have a big team, usually just me and one other person helping out. We like talking to the parents who come in; some of them have been shopping with us since their first child was born. We don't do any big marketing or have a polished look. The sign outside has a little crack in it from a storm last year, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. It doesn't seem to stop anyone from coming inside. We open up early and stay late most days because that is when the parents are off work and have time to browse. It’s a lot of standing on our feet, but we are used to it by now. We just want to provide something useful for the local families without making a big fuss about it.
