Kids Care

We are on the ground floor of the Manmandir Shopping Centre, shop number 2. It’s right opposite the Kadhiwala in Ambavadi, specifically in the Chhakkapir Gali. That lane is quite narrow and can be a bit of a squeeze if two people are carrying big bags. Our shop is mostly filled with things that parents need for their babies and small children. We have boxes of diapers and bottles and some clothes stacked up on the shelves. It’s not a very modern looking place, the tiles on the floor are a bit chipped in the corners and the paint is peeling a little near the ceiling. We have a small light that hangs over the counter which we have to tap sometimes to make it stay on. It’s a busy little area, and we know many of the regulars who walk through the Gali every day. Sometimes we just stand at the door and talk to the people passing by. It gets a bit dark inside during the monsoon because the clouds block the sun and our windows aren't very large. We spend a lot of time just counting the stock and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s just a simple, honest shop. We don’t have any big goals other than just being here when someone needs to grab something for their child on their way home. It’s a small life but it keeps us occupied.
