Kejriwal Sanket

Kejriwal Sanket is tucked away in the B/1234 section of Kohinur Market. This is right on the Ring Road in Surat, so you can imagine the chaos outside every single day. Kohinur Market is huge and it can be a bit of a maze if you are not used to it. Our shop is just one of many in the long rows of traders. We have a lot of stuff packed into a small area, so there isn't much room to walk around once we have all our materials inside. The air is always thick with the smell of new cloth and the sound of people shouting to be heard over the traffic. We spend most of our day sitting on the floor or on small stools because that’s just how things are done here. It’s not a place for someone who likes peace and quiet. We have a small light bulb that hangs from the ceiling and a fan that rattles a bit when it's on high speed. We don't mind the noise though, it makes us feel like we are part of the action. Kejriwal Sanket has been in this spot for some time, and we have our regular routine. We drink tea, talk to the transporters, and keep an eye on our stock. It’s hard work but it’s honest.
