Our shop is at number 5 on the Pune Solapur Road in Salabatpura. Being right on the main highway means we see a lot of different people. It’s not just the locals from the neighborhood; we get truckers and people traveling between cities who need a charger or a new SIM card. The dust from the road is a constant battle. No matter how much I wipe the counters, there’s always a thin layer by the end of the day. It’s a fast-paced environment. People want things done quickly so they can get back on the road. I keep a good stock of basic accessories because that’s what sells the most. The shop is small and the lighting is a bit harsh, but it’s practical. I have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when there aren't any customers, but that’s rare. Usually, there’s someone asking about a data plan or wanting to look at a second-hand phone. I don’t like overcomplicating things. I tell them the price and what I can do, and they decide. It’s a straightforward way to live. Sometimes the noise from the trucks is so loud we have to shout to hear each other. But you get used to it after a few months. It’s just a part of working on the Solapur Road. I close up around nine and the traffic is still going strong. Sometimes I stand outside for a minute just watching the headlights go past. You meet people from all over who are just passing through.
