If you go to A K Road and look for Ajay Shopping Centre, you will find us there among all the other small businesses. It’s a lively place to be every day. We handle mostly mobile sales here, so the shelves are always full of boxes. It’s not just about selling the expensive ones; a lot of people come in looking for something simple that just makes calls and stays charged for a long time. We spend a lot of time explaining how the different cameras work or why one battery lasts longer than another. The shopping centre is always full of people moving around, so there is a lot of energy. We keep a small stool behind the counter, but honestly, we are on our feet most of the time. Sometimes the air gets a bit stuffy in the market, so we step out for a tea break when it’s quiet. We’ve seen the technology change so fast since we opened. One year everyone wants one brand, and the next year it’s something else. We just try to keep what people are actually asking for. It’s a lot of unboxing and checking screens to make sure everything is perfect for the customer. We don't have a big corporate team, just us trying to make a living and helping people stay connected with their families through their phones. It gets loud but we enjoy the bustle.
