If you know Vasta Devdi Road, then you know it’s always packed with people and traffic. That’s where Jay Amby Sales is located. We’ve been on this road for a long time now. The shop is basically a part of our daily lives. We sell various items that folks around here need for their homes or for work. It’s not one of those big malls where you get lost. It’s a straightforward shop where the door is usually propped open to let some air in. We have shelves stacked high with boxes. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for, but we usually get there eventually. The floor is made of old tiles and there is a ceiling fan that squeaks a bit when it’s on high. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us talking to people who walk in. Most of our customers are locals who live within walking distance. We talk about the local festivals and how the road is getting more crowded every year. It’s an honest way to earn a living. We try to keep our prices fair because we know everyone in the neighborhood. It’s just a normal business on a very busy Surat street. We stay open late most nights because that is when people are out and about. It keeps us on our toes and the days go by fast.
