I run this little mobile repair place over in Salabatpura, Block No 240, out in Palsana. It’s not a big shop at all. Most of the space is taken up by my workbench and a few chairs for people to wait on. I spend most of my day looking through a magnifying glass at tiny circuits and screen parts. Hari Om Mobile Service is just me and sometimes a helper if things get really backed up. People from around the Palsana area bring in their phones when the screens crack or the batteries stop holding a charge. It’s a lot of fiddly work. Sometimes I have to wait a few days for a part to arrive from the city, which can be frustrating for the customers, but I do what I can. The shop can get a bit cluttered with old phone shells and charging cables. I’ve been sitting at this same desk for a long time. It’s a quiet corner of the block, mostly. I like the routine of opening up, cleaning the glass counters, and seeing who walks in. It’s not like those fancy stores you see in the mall. Here, we just talk about what happened to the phone and I try to fix it. Sometimes it's just a quick software thing, other times the phone is probably beyond saving. I try to be straight with people about that. It’s just how I run things here in Salabatpura, and it seems to work out okay for everyone.
