Hari Om Computer

Running a shop on Varachha Road means you deal with a lot of dust and a lot of people every single day. Hari Om Computer isn’t a huge place, but we manage to fit quite a bit inside. There are boxes of spare parts tucked under the counters and monitors stacked up near the back wall. Most days, I am hunched over a desk with a screwdriver in my hand, trying to figure out why a laptop won’t turn on or why a hard drive is making that clicking noise. It can be frustrating when parts take a long time to arrive, but that is part of the job. Customers usually come in looking worried because their work is stuck, and I do what I can with what’s available. The road outside is always loud with bikes and rickshaws, so we keep the fan on high to drown out some of the noise. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially with all the machines running at once. I started this place because I liked taking things apart to see how they worked, and now I just do it for other people. We keep a tally of repairs in a notebook by the door. Sometimes people just stop by to ask a quick question about their phone or a cable they lost. It is a bit messy with wires everywhere, but I know where everything is. We don't have a flashy sign, just the name above the door and some old posters.
