Radhe Computers

Radhe Computers is tucked into a small spot at 5/790, Vania Sheri, in the Mahidharpura area of Surat. If you know Surat, you know that Mahidharpura is incredibly busy and the lanes like Vania Sheri are narrow and full of life. Our shop is packed with all sorts of things—monitor screens, tangled cables, old motherboards, and boxes of keyboards. It’s not a very big space, so we have to use every inch of the walls for shelving. People come in all day with laptops that won't turn on or computers that are running too slow. We sit at our small workbenches with screwdrivers and soldering irons, trying to figure out what's wrong. It’s dusty work because computers seem to collect every bit of dirt from the street. The noise from the narrow street outside is constant, with scooters zooming by and people talking. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to fix electronics. Sometimes we are here late into the evening trying to finish a repair so someone can get their work done the next day. We don't have any fancy displays or a big showroom. It’s mostly just a workshop where we solve technical problems. We have been in this neighborhood for a while, and the locals know to bring their gadgets to us when they break. It’s a simple, busy life here in the heart of the city.
