Hansraj and Company

Our office for Hansraj and Company is tucked away in Mahidharpura, specifically at 6/829 Chhaparia Sheri. If you know the area, we are right opposite the Jain Temple and near the Kabutar Khana. It is a very traditional part of the city with narrow streets and lots of history. The Galemandi area is always crowded with people and scooters, so getting here can be a bit of a squeeze. We have been operating from this same spot for a long time. The building is old and the rooms are small, but it suits what we do. We mostly deal with trading and some administrative work related to the local markets. It’s the kind of place where you hear the temple bells in the morning and the birds at Kabutar Khana throughout the day. We don't have any modern glass walls or fancy office furniture. Instead, we have old wooden desks and cupboards full of files. Most of our neighbors are also in trade, so there is a lot of shouting back and forth across the street. We take our tea together in the afternoon and talk about the market prices. It is a very local way of doing business, based more on handshakes and long-term relationships than anything else. We like being in the heart of Mahidharpura because that is where all the action is, even if it is a bit noisy and cramped.
