Jaimag Industries

Our unit is C-304 in GIDC Sachin. It is an industrial area, so it is mostly just warehouses and factories all around us. We spend our days on the floor dealing with production. There is a lot of heavy metal around and the machines are usually running from early morning until late at night. It is quite a dusty environment, and we all wear work clothes that get stained with grease pretty fast. We have a small area partitioned off for the table where we keep the logs and schedules, but most of the action happens out where the equipment is. The roof is high, which helps a bit with the heat, but in the summer it still gets very hot inside the unit. We get trucks coming in and out of the GIDC all day, so there is always a lot of backing up and loading going on. We mostly stick to our routine, making sure the machines are fed and the output is coming out right. It is not the kind of place people just drop into; it is strictly for work and business. We take our breaks together and talk about the jobs we have to finish by the end of the week. Sachin is a long way for some of us to travel every day, but we’ve been here at C-304 for a good amount of time now and it feels familiar. We just focus on getting through the orders and keeping the machines running.
