We are located at Shop Number 7 in the A-7 Ramkrushna Society. This is over on Varachha Road, right at the Matawadi Char Rasta. It is a very active part of Surat. Most people know the SMC Party Plot on Lambe Hanuman Road, and we are right opposite that. Our office is just a simple shop front. It is part of the state transport department’s Surat division. We deal with the bus schedules and all the logistical things that come with it. It’s a busy spot because of the crossroads. There is always a lot of dust and noise from the buses and rickshaws outside. We have a few benches for people to wait on. The walls have some old posters and notices pinned up. It isn't a place for luxury. We are here to get the work done and answer questions about the routes. Sometimes the queue gets long, especially during the festival seasons. We just handle one person at a time. The staff here has been around for years. We know the Varachha area inside and out. It’s a lot of paperwork and talking to drivers or passengers. We don't use fancy language or try to sell anything. It’s just a public service office. We open the shutters in the morning and keep things moving until the end of the shift. It is a practical, hardworking environment. We just do our part for the transport network in the city.
