Grand Slam

Grand Slam is located right across from the Jain Temple and right next to the ICICI Bank. If you know the Lal Bunglow area in Athwalines, you’ve probably passed by us. It’s a good spot because people are always walking to the bank or heading to the temple. Our shop isn't massive, but we pack a lot into it. We spend most of our time folding clothes and reorganizing the racks after customers have a look through things. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird clicking noise, but we just ignore it. It stays pretty cool inside compared to the street heat. We see a lot of regulars who live nearby and just want something simple. We don't have those big flashy displays you see in the malls. It’s just us and the clothes. The mornings are usually quiet, so we take that time to clean the glass and sweep the floor. In the evenings, it gets much busier when people finish work. We just try to help folks find what they need without hovering too much. It feels like a neighborhood shop because it is. We know the guard at the bank and the tea seller nearby. It’s a decent place to work and we’ve been here quite some time now. We usually close up around eight and head home to get ready for the next day. It is a steady way to spend the week.
