Devi Krupa Mobile Shop

You have to go up a few steps to get to us since we are on the upper ground floor on Vasta Devdi Road. Shop number 17 is where we spend most of our daylight hours. The view from the door is just the street and the tops of the cars passing by. Inside Devi Krupa Mobile Shop, we have glass shelves filled with mobile accessories. There are rows of headphones, chargers, and colorful back covers. The walls are painted a plain white, but they are mostly covered by display boards. We have a small workbench in the back where we sit to look at phones that won't turn on. It is quiet work, usually involving small screwdrivers and a lot of patience. Sometimes the Vasta Devdi Road traffic gets backed up, and the honking fills the shop. We have a couple of plastic stools for people to sit on while they wait for a repair. The air conditioner is old and makes a humming noise, but it keeps the humidity away. We don't use a computer for everything; a lot of the notes are handwritten in a big diary. It’s a simple setup. We open early and stay until the street gets quiet at night. People come to us when they drop their phones or when they need a new cable. We just do the work and talk to the neighbors. It’s a plain, honest kind of day every day.
