Our office is on the first floor of the Niranjan Building, room 102. We are located on Chowki Street in Nanpura, right across from the Handloom House. Being a firm of chartered accountants, you’d expect a lot of paper, and that’s exactly what it looks like inside our rooms. There are files and folders stacked on almost every surface, from the desks to the tops of the cabinets. C K P And Company isn't a massive corporate firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just a few of us doing the taxes and audits for local businesses and individuals. We spend a lot of time looking at spreadsheets and using old-fashioned calculators that make a lot of noise. The building is an older one, which we actually like because it feels like home. Chowki Street can get pretty crowded and noisy, especially during the middle of the day. We’ve been operating here for quite a bit of time now. Most of our clients are people we’ve known for years. They just walk up the stairs and bring their documents in plastic folders or bags. We don't have a receptionist sitting in a uniform at a front desk. One of us will usually just look up from a pile of work when the door opens. It’s a lot of focused work, especially when the filing deadlines get close. We try to keep things as organized as we can, even if the desks look a bit messy. It’s just how we work.
