Our office is in the Empire State Building, rooms 314 and 315. Don't let the name fool you, it's just a busy commercial building on Ring Road in Surat. Getting a parking spot around here is a nightmare most mornings. We spend most of our time dealing with the fabrics and the orders that come through. It’s noisy because of all the traffic outside, and the hallway always smells like someone is making lunch. We’ve been Blue Bird Creation for a while, and the 'Pvt. Ltd.' part is just for the paperwork. Usually, it's just a few of us sitting around desks covered in samples. The light in 314 is better than in 315, so we do most of the color checking there. We get a lot of people walking in by mistake looking for other offices. It's a bit of a maze in this building. When the monsoon hits, the road outside floods pretty quick, so we keep everything off the floor just in case. We don't really do much besides focus on the textiles. It's a lot of back and forth with the mills and the transport guys. Sometimes the lift breaks down and we have to carry everything up the stairs, which isn't fun. It’s just how things go here. We start early and stay until the work is finished, usually having some chai around four to keep us going. It is just a normal Surat business.
