Binny Silk Mills

We are located on the upper ground floor of Shree Mahalaxmi Market, right on Ring Road. Our shop is 530. If you have ever been to this market in Surat, you know how loud and busy it is. There are always people rushing around with big bags of clothes on their shoulders and the tea boys running between shops. Binny Silk Mills is right in the middle of all that chaos. We deal mostly in silk and other dress materials. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with rolls of fabric. There isn't much room to walk around, so we usually just stand behind the counter and pull down whatever a customer wants to see. We have been in this same spot for quite a few years now. The walls are a bit stained and the floor is worn down from all the foot traffic, but we don't have time to fix it up. We are too busy keeping track of our stock. We sell to other traders and also to people who just want a few meters for a dress. We try to be fair with everyone. Sometimes we get a bad batch of dye and have to send it back, which is a pain, but we want the fabric to be right. It’s a noisy, fast-paced life here in the market, but we like the energy of it. We just show up every day and do our thing.
