My office is over at Parshwa Kunj, which is 10/1607 on Gopipura Main Road. It is right in the Gopipura area of Surat, near Subhash Chowk. This is an older part of the city, and it has a lot of character. I have been working as a tax consultant here for a long time. The office is on a street that gets quite busy with local traffic and people walking by. It is a practical space. I have my desk, my books, and plenty of files from over the years. I do not believe in having a fancy, polished office because that is not what my work is about. It is about getting the taxes right. People come in from the neighborhood or from further away because they know where I am. We sit down, have a glass of water, and look at the papers. I try to talk in plain English so everyone understands what is going on with their money. Gopipura is a great place to be because everything is close by. Subhash Chowk is a good landmark for people trying to find the building. Some days it is just me here, and other days it is a bit more active. I like the routine of coming in and sorting through the daily tasks. It is honest work and it keeps me connected to the community here in Surat.
