King Laces

Working out of No. 141 Jaynarayan Industrial Estate 1 in the Anjana Farm area means we’re surrounded by a lot of other businesses doing similar things. It’s an industrial estate, so it’s not exactly pretty, but it’s where all the real work happens. Our space is filled with rolls of lace and all the machinery we need to keep things running. It gets pretty loud when everything is switched on, so you have to talk a bit louder to be heard. We’ve got a small crew here and everyone knows their role. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the lace and making sure the patterns are coming out the way they should. There’s always a faint smell of grease and thread in the air. We don’t have any fancy signs or big posters on the walls. It’s just a practical workshop where we get things done. In the mornings, we usually spend time organizing the orders for the day. Anjana Farm is a busy part of town, and there are always trucks coming in and out of the estate. It can be a bit chaotic at times, but we’ve got our own little system that works for us. We don’t really think about it too much; we just come in, do the work, and make sure the lace is ready for whoever ordered it. It’s a solid way to spend the day.
