Ambika Novelty

Ambika Novelty is tucked away in Udhna. We call it a novelty shop, but we sell a bit of everything, really. It’s the kind of place where you come in for one thing and end up looking at five other things you didn't know you needed. We have toys, small household items, some gifts, and random bits and pieces that don't really fit into one category. The shelves are packed pretty tight, so you have to be careful not to knock anything over when you walk through the aisles. It’s a bit of a maze in here. We’ve been in Udhna for years, and we know a lot of the families around here. Kids come in after school to look at the trinkets, and we recognize most of the faces. We don't have a computerized inventory system or anything like that; we just know what’s in the boxes by looking at them. The shop gets a bit dusty because of all the traffic on the road outside, but we try to keep it tidy enough. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the festival seasons when everyone is looking for gifts and decorations. We don't do big sales or fancy promotions. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in. It’s a basic local shop run by people who live right nearby. Nothing more, nothing less. Just a part of the daily neighborhood life.
