Alliance Embroidery Pvt. Ltd. is based in the New Bombay Market, unit A-1128. We are right near the Sahara Darwaza area, which is always packed with trucks and rickshaws trying to get through. The market is a maze of shops and narrow hallways. Our unit is filled to the ceiling with rolls of fabric and finished embroidery work. It’s a tight squeeze most days when we have a lot of orders. There are always people shouting and bells ringing from the carts moving through the corridors. We don't have a lot of space for anything other than the work itself. We have a couple of desks for the paperwork, but they are usually covered in samples and thread charts. It’s a busy place with no time for standing around. We spend a lot of time packing boxes and making sure they get to the transport office on time. The New Bombay Market is a tough place to work if you don't like crowds, but we've been here long enough that it feels normal to us. We don't have any air conditioning, just some old ceiling fans that buzz. Most of our day is spent talking to traders and making sure the designs are coming out right on the machines. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving heavy bundles around and checking the stitch quality. We don’t have a website. People just know where we are in the market and they come to us.
