Akarshak Hand Work

Akarshak Hand Work is based at 302 Sweet House, which is right by the Rajwadi Party venue on New Kosad Road. Amroli is a very busy part of the city, and there is always some kind of noise or movement happening outside our windows. Here at the shop, we mostly sit down and focus on the small details that come with doing hand work. It can be quite a strain on the eyes and the back after a few hours, but that is just part of the job. We have several long wooden tables where everyone sits and works together throughout the day. The natural light comes in pretty well through the windows in the morning hours. We aren't a massive factory or anything like that, just a group of local people who know how to work a needle and thread properly. Sometimes the traffic on New Kosad Road gets so loud that we have to raise our voices to talk to each other, but mostly it is just quiet work. We drink a lot of tea to keep our energy levels up. Being so close to Sweet House can be a problem because we often end up buying snacks there when we should be working. We have been in this building for quite a while now and we know the area well. It is just a basic workspace for us.
