Supaul Kosi Poultry Farmer Producer is located at Tulapapti, which is in Ward Number 3 of Parsa. It’s right near Pipra Bazar, a place that stays fairly active throughout the week. Ajit Kumar runs the show from here, and the focus is entirely on the poultry side of things. If you walk by, you will likely hear the sound of the birds or see the feed trucks being unloaded. It is a very hands-on type of business. We spend most of our time worrying about the health of the chickens and making sure the farmers in the Kosi region are getting what they need. The office is just a small room at the front of the property where we keep the ledgers and handle the sales. It can get pretty hot in Supaul, so we have to be careful with the ventilation in the sheds. We don't have any marketing experts or polished brochures; we just know a lot about raising birds and getting them to the market in Pipra. The local guys drop by constantly to talk about feed prices or to report how their flocks are doing. It is a community effort, really. We try to keep things simple and honest, dealing with the daily ups and downs of the poultry market without too much fuss. It is hard work, but it’s what we do here in Tulapapti.
