We are Guria Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited, and our small office is at Anmol Kumar Anandvill in Panch Tola, which is part of Guria in Tribeniganj. Most of us here are farmers ourselves or have families that have been working the land for generations. We decided to form this company because it is easier to sell what we grow when we work as a group. Life in Tribeniganj is mostly about the seasons and what is growing in the dirt at that moment. We meet up at the office, which is really just a simple room, to talk about what seeds we need or who has a tractor we can borrow. It is not a very formal place. You might find someone drinking tea and complaining about the rain while another person is trying to fix a ledger. We are just regular people from the village trying to make sure our families are taken care of. Dealing with the markets is tough, so we put our heads together to figure out the best way to handle the Guria area harvests. Sometimes we disagree on how things should be done, but that’s just what happens when you have a lot of different people involved. We don’t have a big marketing budget or fancy websites. We just talk to our neighbors and work the land like we always have. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset.
